You’ve struggled through the pain.
You’ve weathered the storms.
And sometimes . . . they don’t seem worth it.
On the darkest days, you feel strangled, hopeless, and worthless. It feels like nothing happens for a reason. It feels like everything’s pointless in the grand scheme of things. It’s not like you’re being persecuted specifically for your faith, it’s just that life is hard.
This wasn’t supposed to be part of His plan.
It certainly wasn’t a part of yours.
Whatever it is, it just . . . hurts.
So what should you remember when you’re in these moments?
1. You Are Not Alone
No, you’re not the only one suffering.
No, you’re not the only one facing what you are.
No, you’re not the only one who feels alone.
Everyone on this Earth suffers. You might not notice it often, but it’s the reality of living in a broken world.
Not everyone has seen what you’re facing, but others have gone through similar situations. Your struggles are not isolated. There is nothing new under the sun.
Not everyone is an amazing friend, not everyone will stick up for you, and not everyone will know you well enough to know what you need. But that doesn’t mean you’re alone because God is always nearby and always ready for a conversation. He has a listening ear, and He understands more than you probably give Him credit for.
2. God Loves You (and He’s Not the Only One)
Some days, this might feel impossible to believe.
But trust me—please trust Him. Trust that He loves you, even at your darkest.
Name one thing you’ve gone through that pushed Him away, then remember 1 Corinthians 13:8: “Love never fails.”
3. God Does Still Have a Plan That’s Worth It
You’re not sovereign, all-powerful, with all wisdom, or in all places at all times. Hard to believe, right? You’re not a god. Sometimes that reality hurts, and other times we’re thankful it’s the truth.
Imagine if everything fell on your shoulders. Where would you be then?
God is sovereign, all-powerful, with all wisdom, and in all places. He loves you, He loves me, and He loves your enemies. He’s just but merciful, kind but zealous, gentle but powerful.
And yes—He’s using this pain to paint the bigger picture.
It hurts. You might not see the point while you’re the one enduring the tough stuff.
God is working, He’s still doing miracles—big and small. Excruciating pain can mean blessings multiplied in the future.
He is still changing hearts.
We don’t always trust that His plan is the best, not like we should, but it is. Can you believe that, too?
4. It Will Get Better
Not even the darkest nights can persuade the sun to stop rising.
Light can’t cast a shadow.
You don’t have to be afraid of tomorrow (Matthew 10:29–31, Philippians 4:6–7).
Be faithful, and God will reward you.
Whatever you’re going through won’t last forever.
There is a purpose.
God’s plan will probably hurt in the moment, but it’s so much more beautiful.
